Download V2.3

CCOUNT is a free software package for market research / marketing research data cleaning, data weighting, manipulation, cross tabulation and data analysis. Similar to, and uses the same syntax and data format as SPSS-MR "Quantum"*, a well known commercial package for processing market research survey data. CCOUNT is a non-GUI, console based application and is distributed under the terms of our Freeware License. CCOUNT is an ongoing project and not a finished product in any sense. We may upgrade it from time to time and post new releases.

Please note that CCOUNT needs a C-Compiler:

- On Windows (Win95/98, NT, 2000, XP) you need the free BORLAND C++ COMPILER 5.5, which you can download from Borland (approx. 9 MB). Please find installation instructions for the Compiler here.
- On Linux the GNU C-Compiler is certainly installed anyway or post-install it from your Linux distribution CD.
- On SunOS you either need the genuine Sun C-Compiler or the (free) GNU C-Compiler.

CCOUNT version 2.0 released by Volker Hoffmann (05.04.05)
It's been a long time coming, but we hope the new release will be worth the wait. Apart from some bugfixes and a few other things, the new version now supports data weighting with weighting syntax, weighted data processing and includes the new weighting engine, mostly thanks to René Donner, who wrote the weighting algorithms. Available weighting methods are RIM (IPF, Iterative Proportional Fitting), Target and Factor weighting with weights as proportions/percents (input) or as targets. Aside from the new weighting engine, CCOUNT is now able to write out data files with weights assigned, count weighted tables, axes and even individual axis elements.

New documentation version available (update) by Volker Hoffmann (11.03.05)
We're proud to present you a new version of the CCOUNT documentation. This version now includes the tabulation section and the data weighting chapters. Everything thanks Matthew, who again proved his superiority in sorting all the commands in a logical order and creating a valuable document. THANKS Matthew! Data weighting is introduced with version 2.0beta, which is available in the development section of this site.
